Ceramic pottery painting:

Isn’t it nice to be given a gift that has had some thought put into it?

Personality, in a gift, and personalised gifts are great to make and also to give.

Our concept for painting your own pots is really very simple - like the best things in life!

  • Pick your blank pottery piece from the extensive selection displayed in the studio.
  • Decide on which paint option you would like to use:
    • Acrylic or Glaze?
  • Then ask the assistant for the colours that you would like.
  • Select your brushes and/or tools required, e.g., sponges and scratchy tools.
  • You will be given, water, kitchen roll, water trays with sponges.
  • You are now ready to get started

TOP TIP!

Before you start to paint your pottery, first ensure that you wash your piece with the water and sponge set given.  This will remove any dusty particles and will stop any damage in the kiln with pieces flying off and disturbing the paint.

Apply glaze and the end result will be glossy. Glaze is applied by layering the under glaze three times.  The piece will then be given a final glazed coat and it will be fired in a kiln with the temperature reaching up to 1020 degrees centigrade.  The item will be left in the studio and ready for collection the following week.  Glaze is highly recommended for plates, mugs and dinnerware.

Apply acrylic colour and the end result is shiny and can have glittered finished. When applying this paint – what you see is what you will get.  Will be available to take home on the same day.  Recommended for money boxes, trinkets and collectables.
